If the wiring is not done correctly, you will experience interruptions to your ADSL service and interruptions to your monitoring as the ADSL and phone signals fight for priority on the phone line.

Quiet often security systems that don’t have the right filtering miss their weekly auto tests, and if there is a genuine break-in the data from the security system may not reach the Security Control Room – resulting in no calls going to after hours contacts, patrols, or police. Having your ADSL connection drop out when a call comes in or goes out is inconvenient; having a smoke detector or burglar alarm unable to dial back to the monitoring centre in an emergency because you have ADSL installed could be a tragedy.

By doing this no other filters will be required around your house or office. The stability, latency, and sync rate of your ADSL connection will all see an improvement; but most importantly  your security panel will report to the control room correctly.
